Vanilla Music Mod for NTW3

Postby Sir Doctor Professor » Mon Mar 26, 2018 10:58 am

Forward
Hey! I am a huge fan of NTW3 and have played it for years but it always bugged me that the original soundtrack was removed from the game as it was one of my favorite parts of the vanilla version. Anyway, I searched around looking for a way to replace the NTW3 battle ambiance with the vanilla music and was unable to find one so I decided to do something about it. I grabbed a pack editor and after about half-an-hour of fumbling around with it trying to figure out how it worked, finding the right files, and making the necessary adjustments I put together a fx1.pack that reverts the game's music back to vanilla. Anyway, having spent that much time working on it I figured I'd make it available to other people with the same issue.

Description
This mod restores the vanilla music while retaining all other changes made by NTW3.

Download & Installation

Installation: Move the fx1.pack file to C:\>Program Files (x86)>Steam>steamapps>common>Napoleon Total War>data>NTW3>classic75 . Note: I highly recommend you backup your existing fx1.pack in case you decide to revert.

Does this affect compatibility in Multiplayer battles ?
To save Russia, we have to burn Moscow.

I have not tried it but I don't think so. Like I said in my original post, you should backup your original file just in case. If anyone gets a chance to test it and can let me know I'll add the compatibility to the mod description.

May I suggest in this case to make a movie pack with just the music file, in this case fx1 will remain the same and you should have no compatibility issue. If working you can then pass the small pack instead of the whole fx1.pack which is huge. I think it's better to remove the link until you know for sure if you can still play MP
