Re: Histwar promo video 2011
The game may be great, the marketing department is not.
The frame rate of the video is awful , and the quality of the images and graphic was bad already for 1987 standards.
Sorry Lancier .

Re: Histwar promo video 2011
After seeing that ugly graphics at Borodino I feel urge to make a decent map of that battle

Re: Histwar promo video 2011
Now don't get me wrong, I'm from the age of playing games with awful graphics. Civil War Genreals 1 and 2, Sid Gettys, any of the Battleground series from Talon Soft, I've played them all and many others. While I don't necesarily need eye candy I'd like to see a little more eye candy.
I don't mean continuous animation of units and battles with rolling smoke and top of the line sound like in the Total War series by CA and Sega; but I don't think it would be "too much" to do if there was an eventual patch or 3rd party content that would add some better higher res textures or even more fluid animation to the Histwar game.
It is however, one of the best and only "real" battlefield simulators. And the feeling of the game is unequaled in comparison to the traditional miniature tabletop wargaming many of us have played over the years.

What this game might lack in graphics it makes up in gameplay.
it's graphics are rome total war quality but it's depth and scale are unequaled.

I'd say maybe in between Rome Total War and Medieval 1 Total War. But you are most definitely right. It's game play makes up for any complaints in the graphics department. I'll take the flip side of the coin from the point of my last post and say there is something nostalgic about the graphics. That's kind of.... cool.
