The Lordz Steam Group

It might be advantageous if The Lordz had their own Steam Group to more easily find each other when they have time for games. Maybe something similar to the Org’s Empire Multiplayer Steam Group.

http://steamcommunity.com/groups/etwmp

Only The Lordz Group would be private, joined by invitations sent only to those presenting Steam Profiles in The Council of War/Steam Accounts topic.

If that sounds acceptable to everyone, I would be honored to accept the responsibility of establishing such a Group, and maintaining the join invitations. Or it might be better for someone with more status in The Lordz community to do so (my first day)?

In any case I would personally like to see such a Group and would like to join it, what ever is decided

I support this notion.

It would be easier to deliver updates/tidbits of information to the people of this forum by using the Steam notification system. Communication would also be much more direct.

Ok, well I’ve gone ahead and started this with Steam Group names available (“The Lordz” is in abundant use), and inviting the two Generals above. I didn’t want to assume on the rest of those posting on the Steam Accounts topic without their permission.

http://steamcommunity.com/groups/thelor ... collective

Something that is always a problem on Steam is finding the exact person you are looking for. There are thousands of Profiles with many people using the same names. Without a direct link to your Profile page, the search can provide long lists to guess at, and mistakes to be made.

I did find a djneed and two Mr. Wellingtons (hope I invited the right one). But if future joiners would please post your Profile link, it would help a great deal.

I am looking forward to playing with Lordz members, and hopefully on some of the Lordz maps. And I have a little idea about battle anniversary reenactment event series that I would like to present, if you don’t already have something like that going, or in the works.

Salute!

Hi.

We do need a steam group. We haven't a mod yet, but since those that have the lordz maps can only play with each other, it would be good to have a group for them. So we've made one and will make it public soon. Lord Gunner will be running it, and it will be by invite (the only requirement being that you have the maps installed).

Later on when we do have a mod and more management might be required, you could help then, but for now maybe it would be better to have only one group, to avoid confusion.

Done then, and removed.

Edit: Or at least removed myself from it. The Group seems to still be there with no one in it

Ahhh, it did eventually disappear

And in checking to be sure, found your (upcoming) NTW3 Steam Group.

Good Show

Invites to the Lordz ntw3 steam Group will start being sent out tonight, to KNOWN Lordz map user only at this stage.

If you use the Lordz maps and don't get an invite soon please post here with your steam ID and an invite will be sent within a day or two.

If you don't use the Lordz maps, there is little point in requesting to join the group at this stage. When ntw3 is released, then the administration of the group will be looked at again, as a different approach may be needed.

Does the group have the same "agree with the mods on everything or get warned and banned" -rule as everything else that is lordz-related?

The group is currently for those that use the Lordz maps.

Sometime in the future, it will be for all those that use ntw3.

Not personally to you Sean, but using you as an example

I think that there are about 2 million Steam player accounts. Close to 10 thousand ETW players at the peek of the last 48 hours, and about 6 thousand playing as I am writing. Searching on the name Sean Cappone brings up nothing. Capone alone (one p)brings up 446 possibilities. Sean brings up 189. Cappone (two ps) brings up 5, none of which may be you. Do you get my drift?

Even your actual player name may not get people to only you, as many can have the same player name.

On you profile page there is a link that belongs only to you, and is the best way to be sure people can find you
