@ Wilpuri -would You be able to make a topic with information about Russian-Swedish wars? I really don`t know anything about it, althought i`m military and napoleonic maniac. About Poland in this period there is some knowledge, but swedish front is, I think, totally forgotten.

p.s. Have You read "Orm, the redhead" by F.G. Bengtsson?

Battle of Albuera - Spain 1811

Postby El Tonto » Fri Apr 01, 2005 4:20 pm

Do you have any pics of the charge of the Vistular Lancers at Albuera?

If so, I would like to use them in my new book on the battle due for publication in 2006. I might be able to afford a small fee but you would certainly receive full acknowledgment.
Saludos,

El Tonto

Drawings and paintings of some small scale fights from the Danish-Norwegian - Swedish war of 1808.

Middle of April, Trangen
Skirmishing between an attacking swedish force and a Norwegian Skil?ber-unit.
Image

The Swedish main force attacking a Norwegian defensive position is itself attacked from the rear and quickly surrounded by Norwegian reinforcements.
You can see the Swedes in the middle (blue coats, white trousers), Norwegian grenadiers to the right (red coats, blue trousers) and Norwegian Skil?bers to the left (all blue uniforms).
Image

The victors bury their dead.
Image

25th of May, Jerpset
A Norwegian force of J?gers sneaks up on a swedish camp. A guard shouts a warning, but i rapidly silenced by an attacker.
Image

During the fighting a Norwegian sergeant grabs hold of the Swedish commander and tells him to surrender. Another soldier thinks the sergeant and the Swedish noble are fighting, and stabs the Swede.

Yep. For a while they wore blue uniforms - just like the swedes, the only enemies around - before they changed them to green ones. =)

More Danish and Norwegien unit?s.

Norwegien Grenadiers and the Danish "Fynske Regiment Lette Dragoner" (Funen Light Dragoons.)
We had 2 Light Dragoon Regiment, one was this, the other was the Jutland Light Dragoon who had same uniform, but with dark green laces.

Ohh, forgot the Danish Royal Navy.
After the Brits run of with our Navy in 1807, we lead a "pirat war" against the Brits.
Small Canon boat?s with a big cannon in the front and a small in the rear, assaultet many small british vesles and even a linier one time.
They didt not take the linier, could though have been a good catch

Anyone else with pictures and a story to go with them out there? It's not often you get to see illustrated accounts from the napoleonic era.
*wantmore* :D
