Re: Range of firing

I think they should correct the maximum shooting distance and put 220 miles instead of 70. Specially for the British troops that use the baker whose effective range was 180 meters. That would be so good. In this thread (link below) you might find the answer to your question about the shooting distan...

Re: NTW3 7.6 - Release Notes & Download Links

Very nice, infantry seems to hold itself better against cav charges, while not being invincible. Differences in cav speed are noticeable. Artillery remains a concern though as the "barrage" button feels completely useless. Couldn't you just remove it? I don't like useless stuff. (Although ...

Re: The campaign is unplayable.

Just for everyone to be able to see my comment i rewrite it : I found the solution ! The developers forgot a file. Here is what you have to do : 1. go to your Napoleon total war folder 2. go to data 3. create a folder named "ntw3" in the "campaigns" folder 4. copy the "star...

Re: Russian rebels what is the logic behind them?

That is due to the faction rating system in NTW3: units of lower rated (weaker) factions are more expensive. Then you get to choose between "minor" factions with overall competent (i.e. capable of forming square), but few numerous troups, and other factions with a more numerous, but less s...

I have a problem with this: I download both parts and the installer, put them in the same folder, run the installer, everything's fine until I launch the game. I launch it from the Napoleon.exe or through steam and i'm thrown to the menu where nothing has changed except the background, and then I t...

Hello, love the new version however I cannot figure out how to switch back to vanilla. Any solutions? You will have to do it manually this time: Move the "user.script.txt" file (most likely in: C:/user/YOUR USERNAME/*AppData*/roaming/The Creative Assembly/Napoleon/scripts; ** might be hid...

I get a "please insert next disk" error when trying to run the new setup for 6.0. Any idea what this means? It means you haven't downloaded the three files. Anyone running into the same problem, please, simply rename the "NTW3.6.0-setup(2).exe" to "NTW3.6.0-setup.exe"....

Re: NTW3 6.0 - Scenario wishlist

If I remember correctly, in previous versions the Lords added three(?) maps covering different parts of the battlefield of the battle of Borodino? Maybe they could make a reappaerance as (lone wolf - i.e. Russians defending against French and "allies" -) scenarios in the new version? Or a ...

Re: NTWIII v. 5.1 Discussion thread

How do you feel about the Brits in 5.1? Do they perform equally well in 5.1 in comparison to other major factions? My SP campaigns as Britain all end in crashes part way through. I have not yet been able to complete one. This was also true in V5.0 SP, but I seemed able to go further in that version...

And... France seems to have become less popular now? Btw, I'm wondering, if French carabiniers à cheval might make a nice half-sized unit to close the gap between dragoons and the "expensive" cuirassiers? I've also noticed an increase of the Russian mounted jager's carabine range from 65 t...

Why not simply disabling it in the DB tables, if this actually solved the problem? This unit stance isn't needed really, is it?

Re: v5.1 patch

The Semyonovsky's shooting stats should be corrected, there is just a small typo [25 instead of 26], but with Russia you don't want to suffer from any additional handicap on top of their already poor shooting. What would be the rating of the Russian guard grenadiers, I'm wondering? Pavlovsk grenadie...

Hmm, is it true that the campaign has to be restarted for this to take effect? Shame. No, you can continue with any savegame (You need a savegame!). You only will have to edit the max allowed fleet/army size in the savegame.file with esf.editor, then save the file and continue your campaign selecti...

List them here if you like. I've corrected the non-shooting engineers. I hope the shooting could be fixed for the French 1st chasseurs à cheval, as well, as it caused crashes. A list of the Morale 10 (2) units that can form square/pike square would be useful. Only the Austrian Landwehr can form pik...

Grand battery

The grand battery is not seen very often on the field, which is a positiv thing from my personal point of view. Re: Heavy Cavalry issues

Classic game has not been modded for this, I know, however: If at the present stage cavalry is being considered too expensive, it might make sense for players to at least suggest applying Line-[square-shaped ]Column-Square in classic game as well, as a temporary walk-around, wouldn't it?
