This map is a “representation” of a part of the Borodino Battlefield, it is based on sketch maps in a book called “Napoleons Campaigns in Miniature" by Bruce Quarrie and also various different maps found on the internet. It is NOT exact replica of the battlefield as it was in 1812.
This is the place the Battle of Borodino took it’s name from, there is a major river running from the top to the bottom of the map with two smaller streams branching off either side. There are two major bridges near Borodino where the main road runs and many other places where the rivers can be crossed. Although there is plenty of flat ground it is hilly in places, with some steep banks each side of the river, there are a few isolated farm houses with small woods and orchards nearby. This will be a difficult “attackers“ map….Alliance 2 should attack here with the defending player trying to stop the river from being crossed and Borodino being captured. The main features on this battlefield are Borodino, the, rivers, a few farms and small woods.

DZs : Team 1 (defender), player 1 is deployed on the right, guarding the river and it’s crossing places, player 2 is positioned around the Borodino Village area guarding the bridges there and player 3 is on the left of the river and Borodino, player 3 has the choice to defend the stream forward of the other two’s position, or deploy further back level with Borodino and the other two players. Team 2 : All three players are deployed well away from the Russian positions, giving them the chance to mass either side of the river.
